In First Peoples courses, students are encouraged to listen carefully, ask questions, and reflect on what they have learned. In addition to developing an appreciation for Indigenous knowledge, students will also gain a broader understanding of the history of Canada. Additionally, through these courses, students will develop the skills needed to be more open-minded and thoughtful learners.

The objective of First Peoples courses is to educate students on Indigenous cultures, histories, and ways of knowing. These courses cover English, social studies, and any subject matter that provides a First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspective. Students explore traditional stories, historical events, and current issues that affect Indigenous people.
